Bubble and Squeak

I had bubble and squeak recently at The Big Breakfast restaurant in Forest Hill. Bubble and Squeak is a traditional English dish made with leftover vegetables. The chief ingredients are potato and cabbage, but other vegetables can be added (our's just had potatoes and cabbage). It was OK after we added ketchup, but I probably don't need to order it again.

Thames Barrier

I visited the Thames Barrier recently, which is a flood control structure on the River Thames located downstream of central London. It was constructed between 1974 and 1984 after 300 people died in a major flood in 1953. It is the world's second largest movable flood barrier.
